How To Care For Your Feet

It’s about that time of year when our feet come out of hiding as we start wearing open toed shoes again.

Our feet tend to look their worse during and after the summer months from wearing sandals and walking in bare feet. Exposure to the elements means the skin tends to get dry very quickly.  Keeping your feet hydrated is the best way to prevent dry cracked heels.

A pedicure is a great way to have the dead dry skin removed from your feet and have them summer ready. For those who suffer from really hard, dry or cracked skin on the feet you just can’t go past a Pedi-Peel! The results are amazing, in less than an hour you can have brand new baby soft feet. A gauze soaked in exfoliating fruit acids is applied to hard calloused areas and the feet are wrapped up for a few minutes while the Pedi-Peel does its magic! After we unwrap the feet, the dry skin will now be soft and ready to file away. You will be amazed at the before and afters! The feet are then soaked in warm water, finishing off with nail shape, cuticle tidy, foot massage and nail paint.

To extend the life of a pedicure It’s important to apply a hydrating heel balm to your feet and then put your socks on at least 3 times a week. Using a foot file or pumice a few times a week will help to extend the lift of a pedicure and exfoliate rough skin. The reason that cracks appear on the feet is that the skin is so dry it starts to break, think of a foot balm as putty that over time fills in the cracks.

We have an amazing take home Pedi-Peel kit that gives you salon results in the comfort of your own home, perfect for the time poor or to extend the results of a salon Pedicure.
